Out of Ink or Low Ink messages displayed

If the Canon 225/226 ink cartridge is not recognized by the printer following cartridge installation (i.e. "Cartridge Not Recognized", "Low Ink", "Out of Ink" or similar windows/printer alert messages) then please contact us for cartridge replacement. While this could be a simple cartridge installation issue (i.e. ensure each cartridge properly 'clicks' into place), it is possible the cartridge's smart chip may need to be replaced with a new one to enable printer to cartridge connectivity.

Missing Colors or Poor Print Quality
If blank pages are observed, or output print quality is extremely poor, then the printhead nozzle may have partially dried out. It is suggested to perform the following recovery steps:

1) Activate the printer's ‘Cleaning’ or ‘Deep Cleaning’ maintenance routine 2 times in a row from the printer's control panel or run a Nozzle Check & Deep Cleaning test from your Canon software, followed by printing our 'Ink Recovery Test' print: Test Print CMYK.pdf

2) If print quality does not improve replace the suspect ink cartridges with new ones. Retest.

3) Perform a hot water flush on the built-in PRINTHEAD: Canon Printhead Flushing Procedure (video)
